What exactly is ozone?
Ozone is a pale blue gas made up of three oxygen atoms bonded together. It has been used for many years as a disinfectant and odor eliminator in various industries around the world. Its versatile features make it a perfect replacement or complement to traditional disinfection methods.
Unlike chemicals, to which microorganisms can develop resistance, ozone destroys them through the process of oxidation and thus prevents the development of any resistance. This gas survives for a very short time as ozone and breaks down into ordinary oxygen during oxidation. Therefore, it does not stay on surfaces and leaves no residue. Unsurprisingly, it has found its role, in many industries, as an eco-friendly disinfectant.
